Why we built free AI agents for FAFSA, SNAP and VA benefits

The forms that decide whether someone eats, studies, stays housed or becomes a citizen are among the hardest documents ordinary people are ever asked to complete. They are long, conditional, written in the language of the agency rather than the applicant, and getting them wrong is expensive in a way that falls entirely on the person least able to absorb it.

An industry has grown up charging people for help with them. That is the part we object to.

Why a network pays for this

The line we will not cross

These agents explain eligibility and walk you through the forms. They are not a lawyer and not a caseworker, and they say so. For a decision carrying legal weight — an eviction hearing, an immigration filing, a benefits appeal — take what the agent produced to a qualified adviser and let them check it.

An AI that overstates its own authority in this domain does more harm than one that does not exist. Being useful and being honest about the limit are the same requirement here.
