How the totals are worked out
Every amount is held in whole cents from the moment you type it. Line amount is quantity times unit price; the subtotal is the sum of the lines; the discount comes off the subtotal; tax applies to what is left. Rounding happens once, per line, rather than at the end.
That ordering matters: doing the arithmetic in floating point and rounding at the end is how a total ends up a penny away from the sum of its own rows, which is precisely the discrepancy a client notices.
Not an accounting system. It does not store anything, number your documents sequentially, or know your tax rules — the tax field is a plain percentage and applies to everything on the document. Check the rate against your jurisdiction before sending.
Questions people actually ask
A quote is a small document with one job: be clear about what is included and what it costs. This builds one in a minute, gets the arithmetic exactly right, and prints without a watermark or a subscription prompt.
Can I make a quote for free without signing up?
Yes. No account, no email, no watermark and no export limit. Fill in the lines and print.
How do I turn it into a PDF?
Press Print and choose 'Save as PDF' in your browser's print dialogue. Your browser already has a competent PDF writer, so this page does not load a second one just to do the same job. The editor is hidden when printing, so the page prints as the document alone.
Does it handle discount and tax correctly?
The discount comes off the subtotal, then tax applies to what is left. Every amount is held in whole cents from the moment you type it, so the total always equals the sum of its own rows — rounding at the end is how invoices end up a penny out.
Which currencies are supported?
USD, EUR, GBP, INR, CAD, AUD, AED and SGD.
Is my client data stored?
No. Nothing is saved or transmitted. Closing the tab discards it, so keep the printed PDF if you need a record.
Can I use it for purchase orders too?
There is a dedicated Purchase Order Generator with the right wording, numbering and a delivery date instead of a validity date.
